Since people don't live in small towns where going to the store or going out to a bar takes just five minutes, they had to invent something faster than a carriage and something that doesn't get tired, such as a horse or any other animal you might be able to use for transportation. That's why the automobiles were invented. Because the fact that they never get tired and that you only have to 'feed' them every once in a while, the cars started to be very popular. Not only that they could finally go on for kilometers without problems, but transporting different things became much faster and easier. In time, cars have become more and more useful, as they became faster, with new interesting and innovative designs, so that every person could choose a car according to their personal tastes.
It's true that cars really help us move faster and they are very useful especially if you live far away from work. Since lots of people live in the suburbs, they have a long way to go until finally arriving to work. All those minutes turned in hours on the road staying glued to your seat are not only ways for us to forget how walking feels like, but we also damage the world we live in. It is well known that automobiles of any kind pollute aggressively the air we breathe. Not only that there is a concerning increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but there are other toxic substances released in the air by vehicles. Natural habitats were destroyed by this pollution, so the wildlife moved as far away as possible or died because of the negative effect of those toxins in the air. But not only animals are disturbed by the pollution. People also are much more predisposed to have breathing diseases because of it. Automobiles also make lots of noise. That noise is also considered pollution, as no human being could stay calm in such an environment.
It is important for us to take care of the natural world around us in order to save ourselves from us. If people aren't willing to start using buses, subways or other transits, than at least contributing by living healthy lives and taking care of plants and encourage youngsters to think about the nature in the future could be enough. If we want better and healthier lives, we must do something about it, because nobody else will do it for us.
